Getting Ready for the Feast?

IMG_0512

Door sign is done! Old frame chalk sticky paper super easy. I think we have our menu down.  A little more to do and we will be ready for the fun! It’s great day isn’t it? Family, food some good conversation and maybe a walk after dinner. Stop by Gussy and see what what’s going on and what others are doing for the big day.

We get the day going with some bloody mary’s and a light breakfast then everyone has a job:

I make the corn bread dressing, pies (pumpkin and a walnut pie this year) and a side or two. My husband makes the turkey, mashed buttermilk potatoes & gravy. My daughter makes the cranberry sauce usually with something yummy like vanilla bean & orange. My sister makes the corn pudding. My nephew makes something maybe sweet potatoes this year. My brother in law fills in where we need help.

We’ve got a few traditions of places to hit. Laguna Sawdust Festival is one. We pack a lot into a few days and have a lot of fun. I hope you have great celebrations where ever you go over your holiday weekend!

If your stuck for a side dish this corn pudding will make you famous ;)
