Makeup!

morning makeup

Fun link up today over at Jeanne Oliver. A good day for me is moisturizer, mascara and a pair of sunglasses. I really like makeup but I usually don’t wear much. Everything I use fits in theses two baskets on my counter (except lotions-medicine cabinet) and when I travel it all goes into the round basket and goes with me. Aveda did that basket years ago and it has been wonderful- when I travel it keeps my brushes from getting smushed. The beaded one is from Anthropologie from a few years ago.

I use a few 100% Pure products-mascara, concealer & liner. My brushes are mostly synthetic but really soft as sable. I think you could even use a good paint brush if you wanted. I always use a brush with my concealer it seems to make the concealer softer looking.

Of the Bare Escentuals products I like the mineral veil and the warmth color the best. They make or did make these travel containers that have the powder and brush all in one, another good travel thing you just tap them to get the powder out. The Outlast lipstain from Cover Girl I like. I just use a little in the center of my lips with my handy dandy Chapstick over it. I used to love lipstick but I noticed women who wear it a lot as they age get purple looking lips sooo no more lipstick for me ;) That Sweet Lips by Lush is a great lip scrub.

A good moisturizer is a must, of course. I started using some when I was 12, my Mom handed me a jar of Avon’s Rich Moisture (I think I have the name right) Mom always used it she never washed her face only cold cream (anyone remember that one) at night to remove makeup and a good moisturizer during the day. She had the most amazing complexion.

I clean my face at night with warm water a drop or two of Josie Maran argan oil, I lightly massage the water and oil all over my face and neck then remove it with wet cotton balls. I use the Pomegranate Antioxidant Hydration from 100% Pure all over (SPF 20) and the Organic coffee bean caffiene eye cream from them under my eyes at night and above them during the day. My makeup artist friend Tamara told me do do that years ago! Thanks Tamara. Origins Youthtopia works really well on my neck of all places, hey I’ll take anything that doesn’t make me breakout.

That’s it man, I think I better go wash my brushes after looking at those pics, what the heck! Checkout the linkup I bet you’ll find something fun to try I’m thinking about the Mineral Fusion Treatment Serum already…
