iPhone Friday errr Saturday

when we moved to Southern California and I saw magnolias growing every place it made me so happy. For some reason I thought they only did well in the humid south. They are one grand tree!

little miss happy kindly let me take a photo so I could try out a new app, “Decim8″. I’m liking it, it takes the photo and “destroys” the image. Fun to mess around with lots of different choices to pick.

a hamburger is my husband’s desert island food. So a trip to Herzog winery for Father’s Day/birthday was a good choice for lunch. He loved this burger with lamb bacon…yep delicious!

The Whole Foods gluten free crusts are on a run for summer easy meals. I made a kale pesto for this batch with roasted poblanos (marinade:olive oil, garlic, anchovy paste) and fresh corn, very good. Then we also did…

…these with homemade sauce, chicken red/pepper/spinach sausage, manchego cheese and more corn-next time a few red onion slices. Those sausages are from Costco, you know how they occasionally have that sample tent set up, you’ve gotta’ try those samples…right?

more food! Had to try the Trader Joe’s gluten free brownies. Yes they have sugar but no dairy so I gave them a try. These made us all happy! Doctored them up with some chocolate chips a little espresso powder and a bit of vanilla not that they needed it but heck why not. They make a brownie that is chewy inside and crunchy outside pick up a bag you won’t be sorry.
